Automatic Transfer From Available

If there is not enough money in an envelope to cover the amount of a standard transaction Budget Touch will prompt you to transfer the shortage from the Available envelope. You can either cancel the entire transaction, allow the transfer, or cancel just the transfer portion. If you allow the transfer Budget Touch will transfer the shortage from the Available envelope, create the original transaction and the resulting balance in the envelope will be zero. If you cancel the transfer Budget Touch will only create the original transaction and the resulting balance in the envelope will be negative.

You can suppress the Automatic Transfer From Available prompt in the Account Settings. If the Automatic Transfer From Available is suppressed you will not receive the prompt, the normal transaction will be created and the envelope will go negative.

For a split transaction, you will not be prompted about the Available envelope transfer. Budget Touch will use the Account setting to determine if a transfer from the Available envelope should be made for each envelope in the split.

"For" and "Memo" fields

The for and memo fields are not used by the Budget Touch program they are just saved and restored. You can set any text information you want in the fields to help identify the transaction.
