Accounts are a collection of envelopes. You give them names like "ABC Checking" or "My Envelopes". Accounts have a balance which is the total amount of of the balances in each of your envelopes and is updated anytime the amount in any envelope changes. When you first start Budget a single account named "Checkbook" is created for you. Accounts are normally modelled after your real world banking accounts, like your checking account, credit card account, savings account, etc. The account display shows the name and the balance of each account, green for a positive amount and red for a negative amount. Any icon set for the account will be displayed on the left.
Touch an account name to see the envelopes. Touch the blue arrow button to see the account's transactions and create split transactions in multiple envelopes in that account.
To select an account, touch it or drag it to the center selection area.
Display the Bank Accounts screen and touch the Edit button to put the screen into editing mode. A prompt will appear with a green plus (+) sign at the bottom of the existing accounts; depending on the number of accounts you may have to scroll down to see it. Touch the prompt to create the new account.
Touch the Control Panel button. Within the control panel, touch the account with a green plus (+) sign on it to create the new account.
Display the Bank Accounts screen and touch the Edit button to put the screen into editing mode. Touch an account to begin editing it.
Touch the Info button (i) in the upper right of the account.
Touch any field to begin editing that field. You can set any of the options for the account. Touch the Info button in the top-left of the editing screen to toggle the display of additional information on each option.
Note: You can not change the type of the account after you have recorded transactions in it.
Display the Account Settings screen as discussed above. Touch the Pay Sources button at the bottom (scroll down if necessary) of the screen to show the Pay Sources screen. You can allocate money to each envelope in the envelope's Pay Details screen.
Pay sources and pay details are an additional add-on. See the Add-Ons section for more details.
Display the Accounts screen and touch the Edit button. Tap and drag the three bars on the right of any account to position it wherever you want.
Touch the Control Panel button. Within the control panel, touch the Sort button to begin sorting accounts. Tap and drag the three bars on the right of any account to position it wherever you want. You can also sort by name or balance by touching the appropriate button.
Note: When you sync with the desktop, the order of the accounts will return to the same as on the desktop.
Display the Bank Accounts screen and touch the Edit button. Touch the red minus (-) sign next to the account you want to delete. A Delete button will appear on the right, touch it to remove the account.
Tap and hold on the account to be deleted. A black button with an X on it will be displayed on that account. Tap the X button to remove the account. You can not delete the currently selected account.
Note: You can not delete an account once it has been synced with the desktop.
