Income - Pay Sources

Your sources of income are called "Pay Sources" in Budget Touch. Pay sources specify the amount and frequency that you are paid, as well as what account the money will be deposited to. You can set up or change a pay source whenever you have changes in your income.

After you have your pay sources defined you will also want to define budgeted expenses and Pay Details in your envelopes. Budget Touch can then automatically distribute the correct amount to each envelope when you receive your pay.

From the Account screen touch the "Edit" button, then touch the account you want to use for the pay source.

Touch the Info button (i) in the upper right of the account you want to use for the pay source.

At the bottom of the Account edit screen touch "Pay Source" the Pay source screen and any defined pay sources will be shown. Touch the "Edit" button to create new pays or modify existing pays.

Pay Source Settings

Enter the name of the pay source, how often it is received, and the amount of the pay.

Expense frequency definitions:

Note: This process is only defining how much income you receive and how often. It is not actually recording a transaction. Therefore, you will not see any of your account or envelope balances change. After you record a pay transaction (see below) the account and envelope balances will be updated based on your pay and expense settings.
