Planner Graph

Horizontal axis: The graph shows the years as the major grid marks across the horizontal axis. Based on the size of the window and the length of the plan, the graph will show minor grid marks for monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or yearly. Likewise the year labels will be either a 4 digit, 2 digit, or 1 digit year.

Vertical axes: The graph shows the amount of total money in the plan across the left vertical axis. The interest rate and inflation rate percentages are shown across the right vertical axis.

The graph shows 3 lines: the plan line, the interest line, and the inflation line. The plan line shows the cumulative total money in your plan at any time. The plan line uses the left axis scale (the money axis) to place the line. Events are shown on the plan line using a symbol to represent each event. The interest and inflation lines use the right axis (the percentage axis) to place the line.

You can change the event symbol and line colors in the Preferences window.

Clicking anywhere in the graph will show the plan information for that point in time.

How To: Select an event using the graph
  • Click any event symbol in the graph to select that event. Read more about the selected event in the Events topic.

For plans that span a long time period you may have to enlarge the window; either drag the lower right corner or click the green resize window button in the top left corner of the window.
